Laboratory
In our in-house laboratory we have a range of equipment which allows us to run tests to help with the diagnosing of our patients.
Microscope
This is used to examine:
-
Urine - to look for parasites, blood cells, bacteria or crystals.
-
Blood - to identify parasitic infections, clotting disorders or any significant changes in morphology.
-
Skin - to show parasites such as demodex, mites and fleas. We also examine the cells from various lumps and bumps to help determine the type of growth.
Biochemistry
Allows us to test the function of patients' internal organs in less than 15 minutes.
Haematology
Allows us to asses patients' blood and blood cells in just 10 minutes. It can test up to 18 different parameters in dogs, cats, rabbits and rats, including leukocytes, erythrocytes and thrombocytes.
Glucometer
Tests a patient's blood glucose levels within seconds. We use this to help monitor our diabetic patients.
